Dancewear and Costume Shop

At 5, 000 square feet, Shelly's Dancewear feels like the wardrobe department for an MGM musical. Dripping from racks are colorful leotards, tights, tutus, sequined gloves, ballet slippers, hats, canes, and everything else you'd need for a rousing dance number. In addition, Shelly's carries exercise-, skate-, and activewear, as well as costumes (witches, bunnies), year-round. There's a well-stocked sale section, and sidewalk sales take place every few months.

Thank You Letter:

Dear Shelly's Owner and Staff, Thank you.

My son, Michael Leonard Kersey Morris will be attending Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts starting this fall and I wanted you to know about the part you played in his acceptance to the Class of 2001. Although my son had excellent test scores and not too shabby grades, part of his application included listing his extra curriculum pursuits, of which he admitted, dance was his passion. Well the admissions Committee said, "Show me, " and so we had a video tape prepared demonstrating his skills in ballet, tap, and modern; as performer and choreographer. The rest is history.
Thank you for being a premier outlet for dance wear, costumes, and shoes throughout his dance career and for the support given to the dance schools he has been affiliated with including The Rabano Dance Academy, Universal Dance Studio, Stanley Holden Ballet Studio, and Harvard-Westlake School Advanced Dance. By the way, he was also this year's recipient of the Harvard-Westlake School, Performing Arts Award for his commitment to dance, vocal, and theatrical arts.

It takes a village to raise a child
Thank you for being part of the village.

Sincerely,

Gay Morris
Proud Mom
